March 12, 2026 - SVCA Extends Flood Warning
Saugeen Conservation extends Flood Warning for the Municipality of Brockton due to continued flooding along Silver Creek.
Issued: Thursday, March 12th, 2026
Valid until: Friday, March 13th, 2026 at 4:30pm
Flood Warning – Municipality of Brockton
Flood Watch – Municipality of Arran-Elderslie, Township of Chatsworth, Municipality of Grey Highlands, Town of Hanover, Township of Howick, Municipality of Morris-Turnberry, Municipality of South Bruce, Township of Huron-Kinloss, Municipality of Kincardine, Town of Minto, Township of Wellington-North, Town of Saugeen Shores, Township of Southgate, Municipality of West Grey.
Water levels in the Saugeen River continue to submerge and impede outlet flows for Silver Creek and are preventing water levels in Silver Creek from decreasing near the Saugeen River. While conditions are not expected to worsen in this area, water levels may remain high in Silver Creek until stream flows in the Saugeen River decrease.
Municipal staff should continue to monitor culverts and bridges for debris blockages that could impede the flow of water. Residents along Silver Creek should continue to monitor conditions in Silver Creek and remain prepared to deal with flooding. The public is reminded to exercise caution near all watercourses. Stream and river flows will remain strong and hazardous, and riverbanks may be unstable.
Saugeen Conservation staff will be closely monitoring the situation and will provide an update if conditions change. This Flood Warning message will remain in effect until Friday, March 13th, 2026 at 4:30pm unless updated otherwise.
The Flood Watch issued on Tuesday, March 10th, 2026 remains in effect for all other member municipalities. Stream flows have peaked throughout the watershed but will remain high into this weekend. This message will remain in effect until Monday, March 16th, 2026 at 10:30am.
