Brucedale Conservation Area is on the Lake Huron shoreline. It is one of three camping parks run by Saugeen Conservation. There are 52 campsites in this seasonal park.

  • Camping season runs from the last full weekend in April until Thanksgiving weekend.

  • GPS 44.3799,-81.5231
  • On the shore of Lake Huron between Port Elgin and Kincardine.
  • Easy to find from Highway 21, just follow the "C" signs.
  • You can take either Concession 10 or Concession 12 from Highway 21.
  • Just drive until you get to the water, turn right from Concession 10 or left from Concession 12.
  • If you don't like gravel roads, we suggest you take Concession 10 until you get almost to the lake and turn right onto Sprucedale Drive.

Recreational trails
  • There are no maintained recreational trails at Brucedale.
  • There are many trails close to the park.
Fishing
  • Fishing is permitted within season only (follow MNRF guidelines).
  • Visit our Fishing page for more information.
Hunting
  • Hunting is not permitted inside our Conservation Areas. It may occur in Managed Forests attached to them.
  • You may go hunting on many Saugeen Conservation properties. Hunting must be within the Ontario regulations and seasons.

History

  • The Brucedale Conservation Area lands were purchased by Saugeen Conservation in 1956 and 1965, and total 50 hectares (123 acres) in size.
  • The property was purchased to allow public access to Lake Huron for recreational purposes.
  • The local Women's Institute was involved in developing the land and it was used as a municipal campground for many years.
  • Brucedale is designated a Conservation Area and Managed Forest property.
