March 11, 2026 Flood Warning for Municipality of Brockton
Saugeen Conservation issues Flood Warning for the Municipality of Brockton due to flooding along Silver Creek.
Issued: Wednesday, March 11th, 2026
Valid until: Thursday, March 12th, 2026
Flood Warning – Municipality of Brockton
Flood Watch – Municipality of Arran-Elderslie, Township of Chatsworth, Municipality of Grey Highlands, Town of Hanover, Township of Howick, Municipality of Morris-Turnberry, Municipality of South Bruce, Township of Huron-Kinloss, Municipality of Kincardine, Town of Minto, Township of Wellington-North, Town of Saugeen Shores, Township of Southgate, Municipality of West Grey.
Heavy thunderstorms moved through the watershed early this morning, bringing widespread rainfall of 30-45 mm. Silver Creek in Walkerton has overflowed its banks, and flooding has been observed upstream of Durham Street. Additional rainfall of 10-15 mm forecast for today, March 11th, could cause further flooding in this area. Debris has also been observed at road crossings which could worsen conditions.
Municipal staff should monitor culverts and bridges for debris blockages that could impede the flow of water. Residents along Silver Creek should monitor conditions closely and remain prepared for possible flooding. Localized flooding has also been observed along the Saugeen River at Lobies Park. The public is reminded to exercise caution near all flooded areas and watercourses. Stream and river flows will remain strong and hazardous, and riverbanks are likely to be unstable.
Saugeen Conservation staff will be closely monitoring the situation and will provide an update if conditions change. This message will remain in effect until Thursday, March 12th, 2026 at 4:30pm unless updated otherwise.
