Report a concern

Violations are development or alteration activities that require a permit from SVCA but are proceeding without one, or are permitted works that are not following the permit or approved plans.

Examples of activities that require a permit include:

  • Constructing a new home, building, or structure;
  • Additions to existing buildings or structures;
  • Demolition of buildings or structures where excavation is necessary;
  • Digging, grading, or placing fill;
  • Installing culverts or other stream crossings;
  • Agricultural drainage projects;
  • Erosion control projects;
  • Watercourse clean outs;
  • Shoreline alterations.

   …when they are taking place in or near:

  • Lake shorelines
  • Wetlands
  • Rivers, creeks, and drains
  • Valleys and steep slopes
  • Areas subject to flooding

 To report a possible violation, please contact the Resources Information Technician 

 If you observe:

  • pollution spilled on land, in the water or in the air
  • industrial or commercial noise pollution
  • waste being dumped into the natural environment
  • improper disposal of commercial waste
