McBeath

• Small back-country camping area with a vault privy onsite.
• There are no staff on site at McBeath.
• Camping area is accessible by water only.
• Make sure you bring firewood and water if you plan to camp there.
• There is a donation box located for contributions to maintenance and upkeep.

• McBeath is situated on the Saugeen River canoe route and is accessible by water only.
• It is about 40 minutes downstream from Access Point #8.

 There are no maintained trails on this property.

• Fishing is permitted within season only (follow Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry (MNRF) guidelines).

• Hunting is not permitted inside our Conservation Areas. It may occur in Managed Forests attached to them.
• You may go hunting on many Saugeen Conservation properties. Hunting must be within the Ontario regulations and seasons.

• McBeath is a 55 ha (135 acre) parcel of land purchased in 1854 by the McBeath family as a homestead.
• We valued this land for its river front (1830 metres) and purchased it for a place for river users to camp, stop or rest.
• After we bought this land we cleared some of it of all invading shrub. We also seeded it into grass species for pasture.
• The property contains a mixed hardwood forest. Before we bought the land, it was pasture land.
• The Boy Scouts of Canada planted this area in the late 1970s.  It was part of their tree planting program.
• McBeath is a Conservation Area and Managed Forest.
