Rules and Regulations

All vehicles must stop at the gatehouse to check in with gate staff. Staff will provide you a camping permit before you proceed to your campsite.

1. You must display your camping permit on your dashboard. You must show these to gate staff upon entry.
2. Drivers must obey the Highway Traffic Act. This includes posted speed limits and signs. You must be aware of pedestrians (especially children) at all times.  We do not allow all terrain vehicles (ATVs), golf carts etc. in the campground.
3. Generators are not permitted in the campground. We allow them in equestrian and group areas only, operated from 9am to 9pm.
4. Campsites must be kept clean and tidy at all times. Deposit all garbage in proper receptacles located within the campground. If a campsite is left untidy, we will charge a fee of $150.00 to your credit card.
5. The Conservation Authority encourages recycling. Please utilize the proper recycling bins on site.
6. If you use the campground or facilities, you must keep it in a clean and sanitary condition at all times.
7. Beach and swimming areas are not supervised. Use at your own risk. Parents and guardians are responsible for their child’s safety.
8. We will not tolerate rowdy behavior, excessive noise or swearing.
9. Fireworks are not permitted as per regulation. 
10. Saugeen Valley Conservation Authority assumes no responsibility whatsoever for personal injury. We also assume no responsibility for loss/damage to vehicles or personal property.

• Check-in time is between 2:00pm and 8:00pm. Prior arrangements are required to check in after 8:00pm. Check-out time is before 12:00pm.
• Campsite permit holders must be at least 18 years of age.
• The permit holder is responsible for the conduct and behaviour of their family and guests.
• We allow 6 persons per campsite. We will allow more if it is a single family of parents and their children living at the same address.
• We allow 3 pieces of shelter equipment per campsite. Only one of these can have wheels. For example: Travel or tent trailer, camper van, motorhome or self-propelled camping unit.
• Quiet time is from 11:00pm to 7:00am. You must turn off all electronic entertainment devices during quiet hours. We do this so you don't disturb other campers.
• Campfires are only allowed in the fire pits provided at each campsite. Your campfire can be a maximum of 0.6 metres (2 feet) in height.
• Please be considerate of fellow campers and arrive early (before 10:00pm) to set up your campsite. The noise created from setting up is often disturbing to other campers. If this is not possible, please keep noise to a minimum. 

• We allow two vehicles in your campsite fee.
• All other vehicles must purchase an additional vehicle permit at the campground when you register. You will have to park in the additional vehicle parking area.
• Superintendent or gate staff may limit the number of additional vehicles permitted per campsite.

• All visitors to the campground must buy a day use pass. They must park their vehicles in the additional vehicle parking areas.
• We allow no visitors to enter the campground or park after 9:00pm.
• Day visitors must leave the campground by 10:00pm.
• Overnight visitors must pay an overnight guest fee per person and/or per vehicle fee.
• Seasonal campers may buy a seasonal visitor pass. This allows visitors to their site at no charge. A seasonal visitors pass is non-transferrable. Please tell the gate staff if you are expecting day visitors.

• Alcohol/cannabis may only be consumed on a registered campsite.
• Alcohol/cannabis are not permitted in day-use or public areas (including pavilions).

• Please help us protect our forests. Do not bring firewood from home.
• Moving firewood (even just a few kilometres away) can spread invasive and destructive insect species to our forests. These include the Emerald Ash Borer and Asian long-horned beetle.
• Firewood is available onsite.
• Any remaining firewood must not leave the Conservation Area.

• We will ask for the following information when making a reservation:
  • Your name, address, postal code and telephone number
  • Email address
  • Arrival/departure dates
  • Size and type of camping equipment
  • Type of site required (hydro/water, camping equipment, etc.)
  • Number of people in your party
  • Method of payment (credit card number, expiry date, CVC number)
• We charge a non-refundable reservation fee to each site.  Please see our Fees page for information.
• You must pay your camping and reservation fee when we confirm your reservation. We accept Visa or Mastercard. We accept cash and debit cards in person.

• Please note a minimum fee will be applied to any cancellation or change to a reservation.
• Reservations of less than 10 days cancelled more than 4 business days in advance, will receive a full refund minus the cancellation and reservation fee.
• Reservations of less than 10 days that are cancelled less than 4 business days prior to the arrival date, will lose 2 nights and the reservation fee (1 night if only a 1 night stay).
• Reservations of 10 or more days cancelled, will receive a maximum refund of 50% regardless of when it is cancelled.
• Cancellations of any length after the arrival date will receive no refund.

• A voucher request can be submitted (available at the gatehouse) for extenuating circumstances. Camping is an outdoor experience, no refunds will be approved for discomforts of nature including rain, snow, heat, temperature change, and insects.

• Pets must be on a leash not exceeding 2 metres (6 feet). They must be under control at all times.
• Pets are not to make excessive noise or disturb other persons. They are not permitted in the beach area.
• Poop and scoop applies at all times.

• Pavilions/activity centres may be booked through the administrative office throughout the year. They can be booked at the park during the camping season.

• Reservations can only be made by contacting Administration office 519-364-1255.
• Youth Group camping refers to non-profit, charitable, adult supervised youth groups (generally with youth under 18 years of age). Adult supervision must be 18 or over. There should not be less than 1 adult for each 10 youth. For example: Boy Scouts, Girl Guides, and Church Youth Groups.
• Group camping refers to an organized group of families or organized club consisting of adults or adults and children. This group wishes to reserve as a group in the non-serviced campgrounds. There is a minimum of 25 people required (per night) for a group reservation.
